💔🕊️Today, we are saying goodbye to Mr. Moo, a community cat who got killed by coyotes. Mr. Moo was a kitty that appeared about a year ago on our pet sitting route. He befriended our super friendly neighborhood cat, Sonny. Mr. Moo became Sonny’s shadow very quickly. We would always see them together, day or night. Lounging in the sun or shivering in the rain. We got to love Mr. Moo. He was a feral cat, probably abused by humans. One of his ears was almost gone. From the time we realized Mr. Moo was deaf, we try finding placement for him and Sonny. We did not want to separate this unlikely pair. Sadly, no one wanted to take a chance with these 2 boys. Mr. Moo was a spicy boy but we loved him for it. We kept trying to get closer and closer. And we did. He would always warn us with his mighty paw. It started with all claws out and ended up with a soft touch. Recently, I managed to sneak up on him and touched him. That’s when I knew it was urgent to get him off the streets. Unfortunately, he got killed by a coyote shortly after. Our hearts have been crushed by the guilt, feeling we should have done more💔😭 We wish people would care more for feral and stray animals. Life is so hard on the streets between coyotes, cars, poison, diseases, malnutrition, dehydration and more.
We are now on a mission to get Mr. Moo’s best friend off the streets. We will make a separate post about Sonny but he is a very friendly and loving cat that will need access to an outdoor catio to transition to a life indoors. Please contact us if you can help.
