Since 1994, the English town of Edenbridge has burned an effigy of a public figure as part of Bonfire Night, which marks the failed attempt by Guy Fawkes to blow up Parliament on November 5, 1605.

Autumn has its own colour palette.

Copper in my hair, deep forest green in my crochet dress, and a thousand shades of amber and gold all around me.

What do you think? A little too light for this time of year, or would you take the chance?

Day 2 of 5 unhinged things I do to run my home like a business. 😂📋

We hold weekly board meetings.

Because when you have eight people living under one roof, six kids, approximately 34 different schedules, and a household to manage, you can’t just hope everyone knows what’s going on.

We have individual employee meetings, executive leadership meeting with the President (my husband 😂), CEO meeting (just me and the attendance is always excellent), and all-staff meeting.

We review performance, discuss upcoming commitments, address concerns, set goals, and make sure everyone knows what’s expected of them.

Is it a little ridiculous? Absolutely.

Does it work? Also absolutely.

But here’s the thing: I don’t believe running an organized home means doing everything yourself. It means creating systems that allow everyone to contribute, communicate, and take ownership.

And that’s exactly what I’m trying to teach my kids.

Because ultimately, I’m not just raising children. I’m raising future adults who need to know how to manage their own lives.

I’ve created FOUR FREE printable meeting agendas to help you get started!

And follow along for more unhinged things I do to run my home like a business. We’ve got three more days of corporate nonsense coming. 😂
