ONE SHOT RETURN WITH FALL IN START

Hwansik’s one shot return is one that I frequent when learning a new firearm, or revisiting a firearm after an extended period of time. If you haven’t given it a try, I highly recommend it.

With our curriculum being heavily built around movement, one of the common things we see is shooters struggling to get back to that “perfect” position that would get a good return, when entering a position.

In our classes we like to build a repeatable progression. We start with one shot return, then we move to dry fire, which really gives a solid understanding of how the entry mechanics are impacting the behavior of the dot upon entry. Next, we take the baseline of how the gun behaves in one shot return, and then see if we can tie the entry mechanics to a repeatable and consistent stance, vision, and input.

The purpose of this drill is to isolate the entry and really focus on building a repeatable process. This has been a great drill for students to really refine and build an efficient continuum of training from static to dynamic.

Super awesome! I can see a lot of training benefits by adding the falling

Layering skills is key. Do it with movement. Do it from a draw. So it after a reload.
