Ilkal, in Karnataka’s Bagalkot region, has long been synonymous with natural stone. Blessed with rich deposits of distinctive pink and red granites, the quarries of Ilkal and its surrounding region have helped shape the town into an important centre for granite quarrying, processing and trade.
From these rugged quarry beds begins an extraordinary journey.
Massive granite blocks extracted from the earth arrive at the factory, where generations of stone-working knowledge meet modern machinery and precision. Each block is carefully cut into slabs, sized, ground, processed and polished through multiple stages, gradually revealing the colour, grains and natural patterns hidden within the stone.
After finishing and quality inspection, the slabs are sorted and prepared for selection — ready to become part of homes, architectural spaces and landmarks far beyond the place where the stone originated.
