What a rough few days it’s been …. ☁️✨🤍 I always want to be transparent on my page and it’s safe to say I’ve probably had the worst few days of my life. If your gut is telling you something is wrong then don’t ignore it. I can’t thank the hospital staff at Manchester more for everything they’ve done for me.. still not in the clear but I think we are over the worst! Your health is so important and I’ve got a habit of neglecting my own body sometimes. Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has sent messages, been there for me and supported me. I’ll be back out in the mountains soon… I have MAJOR fomo and seeing everyone’s cloud inversions has made me so happy and sad at the same time! I’ll be back to doing cool girl shit soon .. but for now I need to fight through this next challenge. Love you all so much x ☁️✨🤍🫶🏼

13 years! Happy anniversary to my favorite person and the love of my life, @goody_37. One of these years it won’t be an election or a convention or a conference, I promise. And thanks for still commenting on my posts. I still get butterflies. 🥰🥰🥰

Aber Kawas has won her bid for the New York State Senate District 12 seat, taking a 75 percent share of the votes with 90 percent of the votes counted when the race was called by the New York Times. Kawas has made history as the first hijab-wearing Palestinian American to serve in the New York State Legislature. She joins a small list of Palestinian Americans to ever be elected at the state level across the US. Kawas posted a short message to X after the victory saying, “We made history”. “Fund dignity, fight destruction” was the slogan Kawas campaigned with. “Fund dignity” refers to her stance on healthcare for all, fast and reliable public transportation, and affordable housing. “Fight destruction” refers to her positions on stopping climate change, protecting immigrants and her “No money for war” stance. Kawas is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, a group that has made unprecedented gains since its member Zohran Mamdani won the historic mayoral race in New York City last year. She was among the growing slate of Democratic Socialists of America candidates that ran in this cycle. Many progressive Democrats endorsed Kawas, including Mamdani, Senator Bernie Sanders, and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. Her win reflects the growing footprint of the pro-Palestine community within the US political landscape.
