One Hell of a Run

It’s tough to put into words how proud I am of this team.

We started the playoffs in the round robin, and we came out swinging. We played three games, went 3–0 and secured 1st place heading into the knockout round. We couldn’t have asked for a better start.

Then came the knockout round.

In the first inning, we found ourselves down 7–0. A lot of teams might have folded right there, but we didn’t. We fought our way back, inning by inning, and somehow turned a 7–0 deficit into a 4-run lead. That comeback says everything about the heart, fight, and character of this team.

Unfortunately, the game ended in the Knock-All round, and after battling all the way to sudden-death overtime, we came up just short.

Losing always hurts, especially when you know how close you were. But I hope everyone takes a moment to realize what we accomplished. We went 3–0 in the round robin, earned 1st place, then faced adversity in the knockout round and refused to quit when we were down 7–0. We kept fighting until the very last pitch.

That’s what I’ll remember most not the loss, but the comeback. The laughs, the battles, the big plays, the mistakes, and most importantly, the people beside me throughout the season.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, gave everything they had, and made this season one to remember. Sometimes the scoreboard doesn’t tell the whole story.

Proud of this team. Proud of the fight. Proud of the comeback. And proud to have shared this season with all of you. 💛🥎 🌭

Until next season… 🫶 #TheWurst #2026season #boys&girlsoftheSummer
