A tribute to the Sikh soldiers of the Azad Hind Fauj. 🇮🇳
History remembers Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the INA, but somewhere along the way, the sacrifices of many Sikh soldiers who stood with them have been forgotten.
They were Indian soldiers who had been captured by the Germans during WWII and later joined the fight for India’s freedom. Under the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and alongside brave men like Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, they chose to fight for a free India rather than for the British Empire.
This painting is my humble tribute to those soldiers — who fought, suffered and sacrificed so that India could breathe free.
Their names may have faded from our memories, but their sacrifice should never be forgotten. 🇮🇳
