It’s Fellowship Week with @redroompoetry
A lot of my recent poems explore what it means to tend to the spaces and tensions between people, generations, places, history and memory. I keep coming back to what I inherit - culture, faith, fam, stories, memory.
As a Tongan woman and a mum, these questions come up more often now. What do I hold onto, what do I challenge and push back on, and what do I want to pass on to my kids?
I’m looking forward to a week dedicated to writing, craft and meeting my fellow poets at the showcase this weekend where we will share some of our work. Grateful to the amazing team at Red Room for their dedication and the opportunity. Also, my poem ‘Breadfruit’ is up too. Check out the other 30in30 poems and keep an eye out for more poems from red room fellows throughout this week.
