Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate”, because there is a broad road that is crowded with people who think they are on the way to heaven, yet it leads to destruction. Religious profession is not the same as salvation. Church attendance, baptism, sacraments, morality, good works, and calling yourself a Christian cannot reconcile you to God. You must be born again. You must repent of your sin and place your whole trust in Jesus Christ, not in yourself, your religion, or your works. Christ alone saves sinners. Do not follow the crowd. Do not trust a false assurance. Examine yourself. Flee from sin and flee to Christ. The narrow road may be despised by the world, but it leads to life. Jesus Christ is the only Savior. — Matthew 7:13–14
