2 months agoSick review! Have you had the chance to try the vanish carbon 3 from Altra?
2 months agoThe Altra Torin 9 GTX is shaping up to be one of the most interesting daily trainers for runners who want a comfortable, stable ride without giving up a natural feel. The 28mm stack and 0mm drop give it a very different ride from most traditional trainers, while the P35X dual-density foam is designed to balance softness with stability. The roomier FootShape toe box is also a huge plus for runners who like having more space for their toes instead of feeling squeezed through the forefoot. The outsole is another big upgrade. Altra says the Vibram XS DURA rubber is 8.5% grippier than the Torin 8, which should make the shoe more versatile when roads are wet or conditions aren't perfect. The standard Torin 9 weighs 9.8 oz in a men's size, so it's not an ultralight speed shoe, but it seems like a solid weight for a cushioned daily trainer. ([Altra Running][1]) For $160, I think this could be a really strong option for easy miles, long runs, walking, and everyday training. The biggest thing I'd want to test is how the 0mm drop feels over longer distances, especially for runners who aren't already accustomed to Altra's geometry. Overall, though, the combination of 28mm cushioning, a roomy toe box, dual-density foam, and a durable outsole makes the Torin 9 look like a very well-rounded daily trainer. 🔥👟
