Took this trend and made it fit my journey 💕☀️🪩🛸
As most of you know, I’m not going to Burning Man this year. After opening my first permanent store and watching
@ouroriginalstory grow, I realized that growing my business and my career also means sometimes putting things I love on the side. And this year, one of those things is Burning Man.
Burning Man has been such a big part of my life. I went for the first time at 21, and I truly believe it changed the direction of my life. I came back inspired to create
@la_donsk , and years later, so much of what I learned about community, connection, freedom, and people helping each other became part of what inspired @ouroriginalstory .
I always tried to take what I learned on the playa into my real life. Because for me, Burning Man was never just one week a year. I know it sounds cliché, but it really became a way of living.
I’ve fallen in love there, had my heart broken there, cried, laughed, danced, and somehow the playa always showed me exactly what I needed to see.
And one of the most special parts of all these years has been seeing my creations there. From my girlfriends choosing to wear La Donsk every year, to seeing women I don’t even know riding their bikes, dancing, and living their best lives in something that once existed only in my head.
Before I saw La Donsk walking the streets of New York, I saw it on the playa.
So this year I’m taking a little break, knowing it’s just another part of the journey and definitely not forever.
To all my burners heading home, have the most magical time. I know the playa will give you exactly the experience you need. Sending so much love, and I can’t wait to hear all your stories when you’re back.
With Love always, Sky ✨
