My heart hurts. In the rural south where I grew up, it was literally unsafe to be myself. When I couldn’t be myself, she was a beacon of authenticity. ✨ My life will be forever impacted by the lessons I’ve learned from this lady.

i wanna share my favorite dolly memory from music college- the day after the cheeto was first selected in 2016, our choir room, (filled with many many qtpoc people who could not be ourselves at home, ) found ourselves crying and singing to an arrangement of “light of a clear blue morning” to process and it put hope right back in my heart again, as Dolly’s music tends to do 💕💕💕💕 Thank you for the music Dolly
