NO AUDITS. NO BILLION-DOLLAR DEAL.

Almost a year ago, I warned that VIPA was losing roughly $30 million a year while failing to produce current audited financial statements.

Almost a year later, and still no additional audits.
The last audited financial information available to the public is from 2021.

Kim and Kanye were still married. Yikes.
And now you want our blessing on a $1.2 BILLION airport deal?

Get the hell outta here.

But here’s the part everyone should really pay attention to: the airlines themselves are telling us they think this is a bad deal.

Think about that.

Competitors are banding together to tell the Virgin Islands: This doesn’t make sense.

Airlines compete fiercely for passengers, routes, and market share. When they come together to sound the alarm about the same deal, we damn well better listen.

We need new airports. Absolutely. But the need for new airports doesn’t mean we blindly accept this deal.

This deal needs to be VOTED DOWN, and there needs to be an independent investigation into how we got here.

In fact, instead of calling a special session of the Senate to vote on this deal, call a special session to INVESTIGATE IT.

Bring everyone involved down to the Legislature. Use the Senate’s subpoena power. Get the contracts, the financial models, the communications, and the assumptions. Put the people responsible under oath and make them answer questions publicly.

You can’t show us the books.
The airlines are sounding the alarm.
And you want us to trust you with $1.2 BILLION?
And now we’re being told it could cost $40 MILLION just to walk away, when not a single shovel has even hit the ground?

How did we get here? Who agreed to this?

We need answers.
We need audits.
We need an investigation. Now.

SkyCity, What a Pity

NO AUDITS. NO DEAL. NO MORE INSANITY.

Sir: I volunteer to produce no audited financial statements for just $5M/year. USVI saves 75%. Win-Win.
