This work is in my show ‘Throwdown over loose change’ currently exhibiting at @n.smithgallery
The work is in reference to the first meeting between King Wen of Zhou and Jiang Ziya, a Daoist hermit recluse who would become his chief general and military strategist. Jiang Ziya would eventually help overthrow the Shang dynasty and establish the successor Zhou dynasty as recounted and mythologised in the Ming-era novel ‘Investiture of the Gods.’
