If you have a wife and children, please do better for the family back home who loves you, waits for you, and counts on you. Be a husband your wife deserves, a father your children can be proud of, and a son who makes his family proud.

And please don't approach women through some throwaway fake account just to kill the time or hang out for your convenience while you are stationed abroad. If you're genuinely single and truly looking for someone who can stand beside you as a military spouse, be careful with the words “I love you.” Those words carry weight. They should never be said casually, especially when you have no intention of building a future with someone.

Don't say “I love you” just to make someone fall for you. Those words carry more weight than you think. If you're not prepared for the responsibility that comes with someone's heart, don't ask for it in the first place.
