Frustration is starting to boil over in Minnesota after the Vikings’ offense continued to struggle in Sunday’s 19-15 loss to the Detroit Lions. Justin Jefferson was visibly upset throughout the game, and things reached another level when he declined to speak with reporters afterward. Jefferson finished with just five catches for 33 yards and a touchdown, despite being one of the most talented receivers in football. The frustration is bigger than one game, though. Minnesota has struggled to consistently get its best playmakers involved, and Kyler Murray’s inconsistent decision-making and missed throws are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. What makes the situation even more concerning is that Murray had previously promised to get Jefferson more involved, but the results haven’t changed. Murray finished 17-of-29 for 210 yards, two touchdowns and an interception against Detroit, while taking three sacks. Even Murray acknowledged that Jefferson has every right to be frustrated, saying the team needs to find more ways to get him the football. The Vikings are still 6-1, but if the offense doesn’t figure things out quickly, the frustration inside that locker room could become a much bigger problem.
