PARIS FAMILY EURO VACATION’26 ( 2/5) , the second leg of our fabulous trip took us from Paris, France 🇫🇷 to Barcelona, Spain 🇪🇸, absolutely love Barcelona, we had fabulous accommodations from the Penthouse Suite to the Gaudi inspired room for my son and grandson…The W and its surroundings is the IT spot 🔥, we started with a beach and pool day , fabulous lunch with the most incredible “ tomato 🍅 bread, drizzled with olive oil and seasoning , absolutely delicious “ Spanish olives 🫒 Just hit different ( delish ) , then we went to explore Casa Batillo ( Gaudis house ) he was an artistic genius , we had a great dinner that evening with tapas and paella 🥘 and yummy assortment of Spanish croquettas ( had those at lunch too yummy ) and of course more tomato 🍅 bread , then we walked around the beautiful harbor which was alive at midnight with tons of people out enjoying the evening! The next day we went to see one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world , the famous Sagrada Família ( a known pickpocket spot but we survived that ) we had our family all white dinner at gorgeous El Tribut restaurant on the waterfront, dinner was sensational and we laughed it up with a big group of Americans from Atherton 💰💰, who decided to make Barcelona home … love love Barcelona, can’t wait to go back !! I ❤️ Barcelona

CHRIS ADLER — LAMB OF GOD ERA! 🥁🔥 When we talk about drummers who helped DEFINE the sound of modern heavy metal, CHRIS ADLER absolutely belongs in that conversation! His work with LAMB OF GOD is a masterclass in SPEED, PRECISION, GROOVE, and rhythmic CREATIVITY. But one thing I’ve always found FASCINATING about Chris is his approach to CYMBALS! In a genre where drummers often gravitate toward MASSIVE cymbals, Chris took a DIFFERENT approach. His setups featured smaller cymbals, including 8” and 12” SPLASHES and 14” CRASHES. And here’s what I absolutely LOVE. Chris would actually RIDE on SPLASH CYMBALS during some of Lamb of God’s HEAVIEST sections! Instead of the sustained WASH of a huge crash, those smaller cymbals delivered a TIGHT, ARTICULATE sound that cut through the distorted guitars. Of course, he wasn’t afraid to go BIG either. The man also played a MASSIVE 24” RIDE! And that SNARE DRUM! His 12” x 5.5” Mapex Black Panther produced that unmistakable, cutting CRACK that became such an important part of his sound. Combine those choices with his intricate double-bass patterns and syncopated grooves, and you get something instantly RECOGNIZABLE. Go listen to “Ruin,” “Laid to Rest,” “Redneck,” or “Walk with Me in Hell.” Some absolutely NASTY drum parts! But what makes Chris so important to me isn’t just his TECHNIQUE. It’s that he developed a recognizable MUSICAL IDENTITY. The cymbal choices. The snare sound. The intricate kick patterns. The way his grooves lock in with those CRUSHING guitar riffs. You hear it, and you KNOW who’s behind the kit. And THAT is one of the hardest things to accomplish as a musician. So much has already been done that finding your OWN sound can feel almost IMPOSSIBLE. But when you stay true to YOURSELF and YOUR musical tastes instead of constantly chasing what everyone else is doing, something truly PERSONAL can emerge.
