heey pretty people(: my name is Krystal and i am a first generation latina who is the first in my family to get a masters degree! es un orgullo ser mexicana y poder tener este oportunidad que no se podría lograr sin mi familia. growing up i remember when i couldn’t understand anyone around me or make friends bc i didn’t speak english, now as an adult im able to help more people because i am bilingual and give people the space to feel seen and heard. being from jalisco, my grandparents have always taught me to always stay humble & to always be proud of where you come from. my childhood and my upbringing wasn’t easy and always being in survival mode can be exhausting but i wanted to break the cycle. i’ve dedicated my accomplishment to my grandparents as a thank you for leading the way, to my mom for migrating to this country to give me an opportunity, to my family for always supporting me, and my little cousins & the future generation to show that if you have a dream, you can make it happe⁠
