Being pregnant was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
I loved being a home for my child.
I loved feeling her in there, knowing she was growing, strengthening, and getting ready.
I loved having her company all the time.
Being pregnant put me on the best terms with my body that I have ever been, because of the way it changed to fit her and the way it was always strong enough to grow another whole person.
As a queer woman, too, it was special to be out with my wife and be visible, adding to my family, showcasing fat, queer joy.
I would do it again in a heartbeat.
