Halloween Part 1: my last minute costume and @lexiatkins behind the camera with her šŸŖ„ ! ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ #halloween #lastminutecostume #cannong7x #hollywood #losangeles
Big news: a massive Blue tsunami is building as Democrats score their first major Senate flip with Roy Cooper crushing it in North Carolina, Shapiro cruising to re-election in Pennsylvania, and key Florida holds by Moskowitz and Castor blunting GOP redistricting. And thatā€™s not all.
ā€œAt 8:00 AM, Iā€™m in a white coat at the hospital, treating patients in pain. At 8:00 PM, Iā€™m behind a DJ console, setting the stage on fire. How? Because I chose to have it all. Growing up in a village in Rajasthan, girls were raised with one silent rule: donā€™t cause a stir, get a degree, and settle down. Until 11th grade, I didnā€™t even speak English. I had asthma, and during my 12th boards, inhalers failed me; I took injections just to sit through my papers. Still, I scored a 100 in Biology, cracked NEET, and landed an All-India dental seat in Punjab. Once college started, life settled into a rigid rhythm. My hospital duties ended at 2:30 PM, leaving the rest of the afternoon wide open. One day, I randomly filled out a form to volunteer for a music company. During concerts, standing backstage and watching DJs control the entire crowd, I thought, Why not me? I pestered the DJs after the show, asking them to teach me. They showed me the basics. I bought my own console, hauled it to my hostel room, and spent my late nights teaching myself how to beat-match and drop tracks. But the backlash was instant. In college, a professor singled me out and bullied me for having a life outside medicine. It got so toxic that in third year, I had a severe panic attack and collapsed in the hallway. I had two choices: shrink to make them comfortable, or hit back harder. I kept up with my hospital attendance, studied relentlessly, and won an academic medal that year. Thatā€™s when the whispers died. Soon after, I co-founded a medical study app and continued working on my skills as a DJ. Recently, my app received funding, and the same company I had been volunteering with launched me on stage for my debut set in front of thousands. Today, my schedule is pure adrenaline. Some nights, Iā€™m working on my startup till 5:00 AM, sleeping for two hours and then reporting for hospital duty at 8:00 AM. Once my mandatory hospital internship ends next month, Iā€™m booking my parents front-row tickets so my dad can watch his doctor daughter own the stage. So, whether itā€™s a patient waiting for me at the hospital or a crowd waiting for me on stage, I have one plan: show up and give
One last EMMY photo dump for the road. Starting with a huge shoutout to @missyclaireegan. When I first booked @beyondthegatescbs my friend @thenatalie_hall put me in touch with her friend Missy to help me decide if I was going to take the plunge and say yes to playing Ashley for as long as they let me. Iā€™ll never forget that on that call Missy told me if I ever envisioned becoming a mom this was the best job in our industry to be able to make that possible. Iā€™ve always been scared to become a mom as an actor. This industry isnā€™t always kind to our changing bodiesā€™ and our shared focus ā€” Iā€™ve heard all the horror stories. From women being dropped by reps or let go on jobsā€¦it always seemed like an impossible decision. An either/or. What a full circle moment to be able to finally embrace Missy in person and tell her how right she was. The love and support and FAMILY Iā€™ve been met with from everyone on our showā€”cast, crew and all the way up to @sheiladucks, @michelevaljean and @juliehcarruthers ā€¦ not to mention my incredible agents and managers. I feel so lucky that both of my dreams have room to coexist. If youā€™re an actress and worried about making this choice for yourself, I hope you know that there are people ready to be on your team and support you in all the ways. Donā€™t settle. And never give up on your dreams. Every last one of them.šŸŒ¹šŸ’« #newmom #workingmom #beyondthegates #cbs #emmyawards @beyondthegatescbs @cbstvstudios
