The idea of being the “perfect housewife” in the 1940s came with a long list of expectations that would seem almost unimaginable today. 🤍

Women were often expected to maintain a spotless home, prepare dinner before their husbands arrived, dress neatly, greet them with a smile and avoid discussing problems after a long working day.

Household advice from the era also encouraged wives to listen patiently, avoid interrupting their husbands, create a peaceful atmosphere and put their husband’s comfort first.

Behind this idealised image was a demanding reality. Many women spent their days cooking, cleaning, raising children and managing the household, often without the modern appliances we take for granted.

These rules reflected the traditional gender roles promoted at the time, although not every household followed them.

Which of these expectations do you think would cause the biggest controversy today?

This is special. I’m grateful. @fadefit has landed!

This is @westfield Pitt Street, one of the most iconic areas in Australia. To see my startup on a billboard here has made me so emotional but also more eager than ever to push our baby.

To anyone that is struggling or feeling they have no hope, at age 26 I was in this exact place broke and no real direction to life. Push hard, network and never stop working!

See you all tonight @westfieldparramatta 5pm
