The Most Expensive Shot I’ve Ever Taken 😭😭😭

While filming these flamingos with my DJI Mavic 4 Pro, the drone accidentally hit an electric line and crashed into the saltwater lagoon.

First, no birds were harmed or disturbed. I maintained a safe distance and used the zoom lens camera to capture these moments responsibly. Please don’t attempt flights like this without proper experience and professional guidance.

DJI’s tracking system helped me locate the crash area, but I was disappointed that the drone completely powered off after the impact. I ended up walking nearly 5 km through the lagoon to find it, only to discover it was completely dead from saltwater damage.

The biggest worry wasn’t the drone it was the footage. Everything was recorded on the drone’s 512GB internal storage. Even DJI couldn’t help recover the data, but thankfully a skilled technician managed to save it.

This incident cost me nearly ₹4,00,000 and taught me a huge lesson: always keep a backup and don’t rely only on internal storage.

The drone is gone, but the footage survived.

And honestly, for moments like these, I still feel it was worth it.
