How does coconut water get inside a coconut? 🥥 👇
There’s no hole. No one pours it in.
It starts inside a developing coconut seed.
After fertilization, the palm supplies water and dissolved nutrients to the growing fruit. Inside, liquid endosperm develops around the embryo — becoming the coconut water we know.
As the coconut matures, more of that endosperm becomes solid, forming the white coconut meat. The liquid gradually decreases while the stored food supply grows.
So a young coconut has more water… while a mature coconut has more meat.
And when you drink a young coconut…
You are drinking what the seed was saving for itself. 🥥
