23 days agoYour energy, style and smile are awesome! Most ‘pro’ dancers would dream of having what you naturally have. It’s been a pleasure dancing with you and accidentally bumping into other dancers 😂
a month agoFay you have a great energy, and it’s always a pleasure dancing with you!
a month ago“You know, this side is for the fancy dancers.” That’s what a lead told me last night at a social dance at Vivaldi. I was like… okay, and??? 😂 Then he suggested I move a little more to the other side because that side was where the “advanced” dancers were. It was only a suggestion. And honestly, I wouldn’t have moved an inch anyway. But it made me think: Since when did social dancing come with assigned sections? A few months ago, another guy told me I was “so brave” to be at a dance night already when I said I’d only been dancing for a month. And yes, I’m brave. Haha. 😂 I’ve been in plenty of rooms where everyone knew more than I did, and I never felt the need to make myself smaller. So I’m certainly not starting now because someone can dance better than me. It’s social dancing. Not a diplomatic summit. 😂 I’m new. I know that. And I genuinely love dancing with people who are much better than me. I try to follow as best I can, learn from them, and keep up. And I bring my own energy too: my presence, enthusiasm, and willingness to meet them in the dance. Seems like a fair exchange to me. So if you’re new, don’t disappear to the edge of the room. Come dance. Make mistakes. Be awkward. And if someone tells you there’s a “fancy side” and maybe you’d be more comfortable somewhere else… Well, they can move. 😂
