Opening the Frame.

A new series about art, composition & the beauty of framing, created through Daniโ€™s eye for visual storytelling and simply because he loves playing with lines, spaces and composition.

This photo was taken almost a year ago, shortly after we moved into our new home. We instantly fell in love with this arch in our living room. In our eyes, itโ€™s a natural frame that somehow makes every image feel a little more intentional.

This is the first of many frames to come, a little series exploring the joy of composition, the beauty of our surroundings and the art of seeing things differently.

Consider this the opening frame.

Iโ€™ll never forget when I first moved to NC and this woman said to me what are you gonna do when youโ€™re too old to Model? That was about 13 years ago. I just looked at her and said I donโ€™t know Iโ€™ll let you know when Iโ€™m too old. When I was in Fl maybe 20 years ago there was a woman who said the same thing and that I couldnโ€™t model forever and then I should look for other work. Of course there were other people close to me that said I should quit and get a real job and quit wasting my time. But whatโ€™s interesting is none of those people are paying my bills or actually check in on me to see how Iโ€™m doing lol. Well Iโ€™m here to tell you Iโ€™ll be 50 in February. Iโ€™m still doing this โ€œmodeling thingโ€. Iโ€™m in the process of still redoing my house right now that I bought from doing this modeling and acting thing. Iโ€™m going over to my daughterโ€˜s house later who I raised by myself (to see her and my sweet grandson) doing this modeling and acting thing. And Iโ€™m flying to Florida in two weeks to be the face of a new campaign that will be coming out about menopause. I didnโ€™t know these things were going to happen in my life. I simply stepped out in faith I had a dream of being a model when I was a kid. I did not know all the doors that would open. You cannot listen to (shitty) people and no it is not going to be easy. Nobody sees the behind-the-scenes stuff. Nobody sees the hours of auditioning and the money you spend on Website, photos, reels and traveling to and from jobs and how long it takes just to tape one audition. Nobody sees all that stuff. They only see the end product. And thatโ€™s OK. ๐Ÿฅฐ Because I love what I do I canโ€™t believe I still get to do this. Hey! Iโ€™m just as shocked as anyone when I booked some of these jobs. I get blown away and I never take any of it for granted Iโ€™m always very thankful for each opportunity ๐Ÿ’–And I hope that I inspire other girls but especially women my age. You can change your body. You can change how you look. You can change how you feel about yourself. And you can do hard things. What you want is on the other side of fear. Letโ€™s go ! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿซต๐Ÿปโญ๏ธ

My instinct is to always go joke here in the caption but the truth is when Mom is away shooting, I really do savor this special daddy/daughters time with the girls. Time is going by so quickly. Iโ€™m the luckiest dad in the world AND Iโ€™ve also aged 200 years in 6 days. I have no idea how Dr. Neal does it. ๐Ÿ˜‰
