Idk if I genuinely have a different experience than others but I get a lot of respect from male skaters. They ask for tips on some of my moves and hype me up. I’ve exchanged moves, techniques and combos from all ages, all levels. 🤷🏾♀️

I skate in Cleveland. Sex sales, bullshit rink politics take precedence and most of the skaters who have the skill and talent take on the women they deem fit or more acceptable to incorporate or train.The hate I would get from young ladies who knew nothing about me and times I had to muscle up against grown ass men. I bowed out after seeing a lot of this, recently got the itch to rock out to some house and Jb sets so I feel it’s best to migrate to some of the more solid skate jams. @rollinwitrowan you are 1000% right.

Coming from a female skater in the middle and perimeter, the skate world has change completely and it’s based off clout, making a video/tiktok or sexually trying to attract people or attention. If I’m being honest females DO NOT GET THE SAME LEVEL OF RESPECT IN THE MIDDLE AS MALES, and that’s why I stopped because at a point in time I skated better than the males but the judges and males didn’t see the craft. Now I just skate for fun 🤩 til this day I don’t see females skating how we did 10 years ago 🥴

Yea, in the DMV, you have a few who do NY/NJ and even less doing Snap. Like you stated, a lot come there all dolled up to be cute. They are not looking to put in that work and get all sweaty.
