Happy medical Ultrasound awareness month! I remember the day that they finally declared a dedicated month to us, and it was so insane because each and every year we get closer to being recognized as a true healthcare, professional, and create awareness & respect for our field!

Yes, we take pictures. But as Ultrasound is very User dependent, it depends on us sonographers to capture those pictures. I’m sure my fellow sonographers can relate but at least once a day a patient will always ask. Oh, are you doing that or is the computer doing it? And I love being able to flex that this is all me!

Sonographers. That’s it.

What I love the most about this post is that last year, I actually created these cute little cartoons for our maternal fetal medicine team in sonographers. Each sonographer got to have their own badge reel with their cartoon version of myself and we have a nice representation of why we are so important! Ultrasound Imaging & radiology departments in general are so essential to the line of care that the patient receives! We are the Doctors’s eyes and I will die on that hill to make sure that you will get all the information you need through my pictures as the best of my ability to help you with your medical care!!

I personally scan OBGYN & maternal fetal medicine. But I just remembered my first day Ultrasound school. I actually was never initially supposed to go on this track. I was actually supposed to be in echo. And then on my first day I realized that there’s way more Imaging and I jumped to general which taught me abdominal ultrasound, small parts, and OB/GYN :))

Waves of Gratitude: a sonography journey through sound and self ❤️❤️❤️ It’s been almost a year since I’ve created a journal! And I haven’t promoted it as well as I should, but after going to the conference and meeting so many great amazing Sonography students being in spaces where we belong and hearing and reading all of your testimonies in your sonography student journey, this book is something I’m truly so proud of and I want you guys to have the tools to take care of your mental health as well! Link in bio if anyone is interested :) available on Amazon
