24 Police Officers Attached to Presidential Villa Appeal to pres. Tinubu Over Nine Months Unpaid Allowances Twenty-four personnel of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) attached to the Press Escorts Unit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene over the alleged non-payment of their allowances for nine consecutive months. According to Sahara Reporters, the aggrieved officers made the appeal in a petition addressed to President Tinubu, lamenting that they had been denied their allowances despite performing the same duties as colleagues who reportedly receive theirs. The officers said the situation had placed them under serious financial pressure, leaving them struggling to cater for their families, pay house rent and cover transportation costs to work. In their petition, they stated: “We are here to write on behalf of some 24 PMF personnel, Press Escorts Villa, Abuja. We have not received allowance for the past nine months, which some of our colleagues are collecting, and we did the same work.” Speaking about the hardship caused by the alleged non-payment, they added: “We have families, relatives and children to take care of, but no allowance for a period of nine months. We are suffering, paying transportation to work and paying for house rent, which we depend on the allowance to do.” The personnel further appealed to the Federal Government to look into their complaint and settle the outstanding payments without further delay. Concluding their appeal, they said: “We are pleading with the government to consider our complaint and pay us our outstanding nine months’ allowance.”

In Beita, Palestinian farmers pick olives at 5am, barricading roads with stones and keeping watch for Israeli settlers so they can flee if attacked. More than 200 settler attacks have been recorded since September. ⁣ ⁣ Al Jazeera’s @leila.shw explains.
Socialists keep marching to bring all of this to America and Europe. Meanwhile, millions of people who actually lived it risked everything to get out. Venezuela has the empty shelves, and nearly 8 million people have fled them. Cuba has the electricity, and the whole island keeps going dark. Iran has the feminism, where Mahsa Amini died after the morality police arrested her over a headscarf. Gaza has the LGBTQ rights, where being gay is still a crime. 🗽 I created Basic Optimism to bring common sense back to the West. If you want to support this work, the Buy Me a Coffee link is in bio.
