Ross Head @rossmhead
Born in 1984, Shropshire, UK. Currently lives and works in London. He holds an MA in Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL in 2024, and a BA in Printmaking from the University of Brighton in 2006.
Head is interested in the ways that desire is performed and expressed. He explores queerness, masculinity, gender and body image, and exploits the narrative potential of painting to activate those stories. Head avidly collects images and draws upon film stills, archival imagery and sports photography. Drawing on the relationship that homosexuality and other non-normative identities have with modern and contemporary architecture, his works contain an element of fantasy and celebrate theatricality. Head sits on the Artist Council for a-n: The Artists Information Company.
