Found inside a reference book and I have no idea where I bought it, or when: a receipt, dated 1710/11 for the silver embroidering of an olive suit for Sir Christopher Musgrave. Musgrave, 1688-1736, inherited his title as 5th baronet from his wealthy grandfather in 1704 and the family seat was Eden Hall in Cumbria. He married Julia, the daughter of Sir John Chardin. The portrait above (I have inset an image of the receipt but swipe to see in detail) by Kneller circa 1715. It is striking how expensive silver embroidery was - £40 in 1711!
