A CITY ON A HILL

For it is written:
I am a city set on a hill,
and I cannot be hidden.

I was not built for the shadows,
nor was my light given
to be buried beneath fear.

I may walk through valleys,
I may face the night,
but the light within me
was never mine to extinguish.

Let them talk.
Let them doubt.
Let them question the vision
they cannot see.

I will keep climbing,
higher and higher,
until the light God placed in me
can be seen from afar.

For I am a city on a hill—
chosen to shine,
created to inspire,
called to make a difference.

I cannot be hidden.
I will shine.
I will become.
I will fulfill my purpose.
