we recognize that voting
is only meaningful
when we act together as movement
as future ancestors

today we put aside our egos
we set down perfection,
and our privilege,
and our butbutbutandand righteousness

today we show up for those furthest from power
those carrying the most of our burden
those we’ve already lost to hate in this pale time
we say no where it is the only humane word
and yes where it is a way forward, another breath

we hold history and future in the balance.
we vote to take up our responsibility
we vote as both prayer and blessing
we open the way, widen the way, change the way

NYC MARATHON🏅😭.

From having FOMO last year, to finding a charity to fundraise for, to getting approved, to ACTUALLY running and safely FINISHING the NYC Marathon (way faster than my training times ever predicted)… ONLY GOD. 😭🙌🏼

I had never run more than 3 miles before starting training for this, and to look back and see how far God has brought me is surreal.

So incredibly thankful for everyone who came out to support me during my FIRST EVER marathon. Every cheer, sign, message, and word of encouragement meant more than you know. Forever grateful for all of you. 😭💛 26.2✅

He landed on Friday evening, met the suspended chief justice and the Supreme Court’s first president at the presidential palace, and then did what the prime minister’s police were deployed to prevent. Karol Nawrocki walked to his own constitutional court, pushed through the crowds and the police barriers, and went inside, with the court’s first president beside him. The footage shows him shoving past the officers guarding the entrance. There has been no statement from him since he entered. The building did the talking.

Outside, thousands stood with him. They chanted against Tusk, they called for the military, invoking the president’s role as commander in chief, and they prayed with rosaries in their hands while the riot police held the gates. The prime minister’s operation was supposed to be clean and quiet: a suspension order, a new interim president on a website, a court that woke up compliant. Instead it produced the image Tusk feared most, the elected president of the republic forcing his way into the institution his government had just seized, while the people cheered him through the barricades.

That is the difference between a seizure and a country. A seizure works when the room stays empty and the paperwork holds. It fails when the president comes home, walks through the police line, and stands in the building that belongs to the republic. Tusk took credit for decisive action on Friday night. By Saturday morning the decisive action had a president standing inside the court, a crowd outside it, and a government with no answer for either. Poland did not fall in one night. It stood up in one night, and the man at the center of it is the one ten million Poles elected.
