Every year, about 15,000 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer. In 2023, Matty Mazzello became one of them when he was diagnosed with T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL).

Today, thanks to the team at NYU Langone Cancer Center for Kids—Mineola, Matty is cancer-free and starting his first year of middle school. This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, he’s sharing his story not only to raise awareness of childhood cancer, but to remind other kids and families facing cancer that there’s hope.

Swipe to read Matty’s story, and head to the link in bio for more.
