After almost 4 years, the proper followup to the Portland EP is out, Complete / unfinished

During that time, Lost Out West released a handful of songs and played a couple shows sporadically, while working on new music in the background.

After 4 years, looking back at what has been created, I realize that the music has changed from its original sound, as well as how I have changed. Lost Out West originally started as a way to rekindle a passion for playing in a band that was lost in the transition that was going to college. That passion and that drive came back, and soon it became a big part of who I was and who I am still.

The music, I feel, reflects that change, with what has been added, what has been tweaked, and what has been shelved.

After 4 years I feel like this is the best reflection of our efforts and who we are today. Complete / unfinished is the culmination of these factors, and I present them as two complimentary yet separate parts.

Complete: The songs I Slipped Backwards, Paul, Caroline, So Much Beauty in Dirt, Washed Up, Young Vampires, and I Don’t Want the World I Just Want Your Half, all reflect the time, effort, and sacrifice that the creative process entails.

With these works, it is impossible to overstate the impact that @jensky_ (Jack) had on these songs. Not only as the producer and engineer of these songs, he recorded his own parts, added his own creativity, and painstakingly worked through every note, beat, and sound of the recordings. Due to this tremendous effort and contributions, he has been credited with being a co-songwriter on all of these songs. They would not sound the way they do without his genius and talent. I brought him skeletons and snippets, and he brought them all to life. Without his contributions none of this would ever have happened. Thank you for everything Jack

unfinished: The idea for unfinished came to me as the final mixing and mastering on Complete ended. During this 4 year period there were little ideas, little snippets, that I had grown to love, that I just couldn’t flesh out. Because of their imperfections, because of their mistakes, I held them close to my heart as
