BIREN: Apparently, My Name Came with Its Own Operating System
Every so often, you discover something about yourself that feels less like coincidence and more like design.
I recently came across five values that—quite magically—spell out my name:
B — Belonging
I have always believed that people flourish when they feel part of something larger than themselves—a family, a team, a community or a shared mission. (I’ve been incredibly lucky!)
I — Intuition
Data informs me. Experience guides me. But often, intuition makes the final call—that quiet inner voice connecting dots before logic has finished counting them. (Thank you God🙏)
R — Relationships
Businesses are built through transactions. Legacies are built through relationships. Almost everything meaningful in my life has begun with trust between people. 💯
E — Excitement
I need to feel the spark—the energy of a new idea, an impossible challenge or the chance to create something that has never existed before. Excitement is not a distraction from work; it is the fuel.
N — Novelty
The unfamiliar has always attracted me. New technologies, new stories, new cultures, new collaborations and new beginnings—even at 70! Curiosity keeps the mind young and the future interesting. (🕺🏻)
Together, these five values describe not merely what I believe, but how I have tried to live:
*To belong deeply. *To trust instinct. *To invest in people. *To remain excited.
And to keep seeking the new.
Perhaps our names carry more meaning than we realise.🤔
“It has taken me 70 years to discover that my parents didn’t just give me a name—they slipped me the user manual!”
