Endurance and strength are somewhat mutually exclusive adaptations for the body, so trying to stimulate both at the same time results in a bit-of-both compromise rather than maximal gains in both. That's the essence of the interference effect (also called concurrent training effect). Interference led many lifters to avoid cardio like the plague. 'Walking to the gym will kill your gains!' Then the social media paradigm shifted in the direction of 'debunked' after newer studies failed to replicate the interference. Fashion-like paradigm changes are common on social media. They're why lay individuals think science constantly contradicts itself and that you can find a study showing anything. Wrong. The totality of evidence has been quite consistent. Only the social media interpretation has swung around it like a pendulum, much like stock market prices swing around financial information. Crucially, the 'debunking' studies were done mostly on untrained individuals. Untrained individuals can grow from anything, so adding more volume to their program, even if it's bicycling, can actually improve their gains. Trained individuals have far more specialized molecular adaptations, so a new study looked at individuals, squatting at least 1.5x bodyweight combined with running experience and a VO2max over 50. They did either: - Lifting weights 3x per week - 30 Mins treadmill running 3x per week - Both, with the running 20 minutes after the strength work After 11 weeks, the pure-weights group experienced the largest increases in all measures of strength, size and power. "A clear interference effect" the researchers concluded. The effect sizes were considerable (probably inflated though) and the trend was consistent across measures, even pennation angle (an indirect measure of muscle growth), and already present at the 5-week mark. However, with only 30 trained individuals, none of the direct comparisons reached statistical significance. The researchers noted many comparisons were significant in the weights but not the combined group, but that's weaker evidence. #cardio #hypertrophy #endurance #interferenceeffect #mennohenselmans

“They say it takes a village but literally it took a world to get me here,” ujar Bushby. So, your thoughts? 🫡 [📸via AFP, KarlBushby.World] #USSFeed
Becoming a better man isn't just about money, muscles, or appearance. It's about discipline, self-respect, confidence, character, and the way you carry yourself every single day. Never go back to someone who broke your trust. Dress well, take care of your body, and never spend money just to impress people who don't matter. Learn to listen more, observe carefully, and make genuine connections. Protect the people who stand behind you and respect those who stand beside you. Never beg for attention, love, or acceptance. If you're not invited, don't force your presence. Show respect through your actions. Keep your ambitions high, work on yourself consistently, and find multiple ways to build your financial future. Remember, real growth happens when nobody is watching. It's built through small decisions, daily habits, uncomfortable discipline, and the courage to become better than you were yesterday. You don't need to prove your worth to everyone. You just need to build a life that makes you proud. 12 RULES. ONE MINDSET. A LIFETIME OF GROWTH. November opens on 11:1:1, as the master number 11 meets the first day of the month inside the universal 1 year of 2026. In numerology, 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 reduces to 10, then to 1, making this a universal 1 year. One rules creation, beginnings, independence, self-belief and the choice to build a future reflecting who you have become. November adds the frequency of 11, the number of intuition, awakening and synchronicity. Together on the first of the month, they create a concentrated manifestation code around intention, divine timing and the future already calling you forward. November 11 creates 11:11:1, placing the eleventh month and eleventh day inside that same universal 1 year. These two dates become spiritual gateways around eleven charged days of heightened intuition and undeniable synchronicity. November 1 sets your intention, while November 11 delivers the recognition, the confirmation and the arrival. Whatever you wished, decided or sensed early in the month grows through conversations, openings and encounters before peaking on 11:11:1. These days bridge the life you have known and the future you have spent months calling toward you. November feels unlike any month before it this year. Earlier chapters of 2026 brought emotional lessons, relationship reviews, tangled communication and moments that reshaped how you see your worth. This month turns every one of those lessons into reward. Suspended situations begin moving, people reveal their true intentions, and opportunities arrive with timing that feels personally arranged for you. November carries receiving energy from its very first day. Life has stopped asking you to prove how much you can survive, and started showing you everything your growth prepared you to hold. From 11:1:1 onward, the magic turns deeply personal, because ordinary moments start carrying extraordinary meaning. Numbers repeat the instant a wish crosses your mind. Music plays the exact words your heart has been holding. Someone appears in your thoughts moments before they reach out to you. Dreams hand you answers that make complete sense by morning. Invitations arrive the moment you finally choose what you want.
