“Almost 60 years ago, I started with a tie, but it was never just about a tie. It was about doing what I loved and giving it my all. That tie became the beginning of a world and a way of living. To receive the CFDA’s 2026 Menswear Designer of the Year Award is an honor I share with our talented menswear team and with all of you around the world who, like me, believe in the beauty of things that are timeless and authentic, and that bring joy and optimism to the way we live.” — Ralph Lauren

NYC MARATHON BABY !!!!

It’s been big
It’s been emotional.
And honestly I’ve been holding back the tears all day.

Very few things highlight my acute sensitivity to other people’s energy like the crowd at a marathon. Any marathon. But especially a marathon where I’m stood next to my 4 year old trying to explain the meaning of it all. Explaining why there are people in wheelchairs and people with guides because they are blind and people in costumes and people of all ages, ethnicities, shapes and sizes.

I find it so overwhelmingly joyful and meaningful and grounding and impressive. The fact that everyone is there to raise money for a cause greater than themselves is just sensational. I wish I had the strength and resistance (and cojones) to do it. Maybe one day.

BUT RYAN DID.
He did it today.
He isn’t built for it but he did it anyway.
Cos he has grit.
And he had things in his head to drive him forward

I’m so proud of you darling @ryan.libbey

Your grandparents who both suffered with that awful disease would be so proud of you.

Is there anything you can’t do?

Love u always x x x
