i started a new job this week and my supervisor asked me about the time i spent 3 months in Japan working at @clubsandwich_sandwich in 2024. i’ve talked about this millions of times (most of which i had to contain myself because i can go on talking about it for hours), but yesterday in particular it really hit hard how much i miss it. i then started going through the millions of pictures and videos i made while there and like… oh my god.

this experience truly changed my life forever. not only from a professional standpoint, but as a person. i felt like a caterpillar finally becoming a butterfly and gaining its wings to fly as high as possible. it’s really hard for me to put this all into words because it was that great of a change.

many times i’ve looked back and thought “i should’ve worked harder,” “i should’ve tried harder to be friends with everyone,” “i should’ve done this or that better.” some of that might be true, but it doesn’t matter anymore. today i look back and think: if what i did resulted in this many life lessons, great friendships and personal growth, then i must’ve done it right. i cannot begin to explain how grateful i am to everyone involved. to the amazing artists i had the pleasure of working with, thank you. from the bottom of my heart.

to the friends i made, just know i carry you all in my heart, always. you guys made me feel at home. you guys showed me that i can be myself and be accepted.

when saying our goodbyes, my dear friend @w_.yie said “giulia, don’t ever change who you are.” my friend, you have no idea how much those words meant to me. especially coming from someone as great as you. i carry them with me, always. and i miss you.

@bruno_botella_ working alongside you was a great pleasure. every time i recall our weeks working with you i can’t help but belly laugh at the memories. i truly appreciate your art and the opportunity you gave us. i extend this gratitude and thanks to @nawa_kohei , who made all of this possible in the first place.

@austineiki and @billllio , i don’t even know where to start. i felt at home. i felt free to be myself. you guys mean the world to me and i thank you for being so important.
