A camera that surprised me.

While I was exploring an upgrade from my Sony A7 IV to a dedicated cinema camera, the Panasonic team reached out and gave me the Lumix S1II to test.

I took it out for both photos and videos—and the more I used it, the more I enjoyed the experience.

The 24.2MP full-frame sensor, 6K open-gate recording, strong image stabilisation, fast autofocus, and impressive video capabilities make it a seriously capable hybrid for creators who want both cinematic video and beautiful stills.

But beyond the specs, what stayed with me was how comfortable and confident it felt to create with.

It wasn’t the upgrade I was originally planning…

but it definitely became a camera I enjoyed shooting with. 🤍
