This year’s Best Newcomer Nominee, Freddie Meredith,
is the latest cast addition to SNL UK.
Returning to screens this weekend, Freddie will be joining an alumni of Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominees and winners on SNL UK, including Ayoade Bamgboye (Best Newcomer 2025) and Paddy Young (Best Newcomer Nominee 2023).
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his comedy documentary, It’s Nice Up North, Graham Fellows is touring the film across the UK.
Creator of character John Shuttleworth, (which earned him a Best Comedy Show nomination in 1992), Graham will also take part in post-show Q&As.
The tour will also honour the film’s photographer, Martin Parr, who sadly passed away in December. During the Q&As, Graham will talk about working with Martin Parr and how he cleverly captured the film on a remote Scottish island.
Heading to 25 venues, the tour begins on September 17 at @homemcr in Manchester.
Jack Dee is to host new comedy quiz show, ‘Help Me Tiny Big Brain’
Airing on U&Dave, the game show pairs three children (known as ‘Tiny Big Brains) with stand-up comedians.
Comics set to appear include Fatiha El-Ghorri (Best Newcomer Nominee 2026), Ivo Graham (Best Comedy Show Nominee 2019), Johnny Vegas (Best Comedy Show Nominee 1997), Lucy Beaumont (Best Newcomer Nominee 2014), Maisie Adam (Best Newcomer Nominee 2018), Tim Vine (Best Newcomer Winner 1995), and Sophie Willan (Best Comedy Show Nominee 2017).
Previous nominee Liz Kingsman will star in upcoming
Australian comedy, Tough Love.
The series follows the story of a mother and her three grown-up children in Sydney as they come to terms with their mum’s cancer diagnosis. Liz will play the daughter, Steph.
Rose Matafeo is taking part in her second Taskmaster!
Having appeared in the UK version in 2019, and co-hosting
Junior Taskmaster, she’s now competing in Taskmaster
