21 days agoBA$TARD$...... You have to put a net over them and KI[[ the little white butterfly looking things. They are the ones who lay the eggs.
a month agoUse Neem oil and food grade DE you have to check the underside of the leaves and any little balls / eggs you see wipe those off I also spray a paper towel with the Neem oil and wipe down the back of the leaves it has helped and less collards are getting eaten do it early in the morning and during the evenings also check if your leaves are curled the caterpillars are usually tucked under their and you’ll have to kill them unfortunately or throw them somewhere.
a month agoDust them greens with Diatemetous Earth and spray them with BT.; both are safe for humans. Keep them covered with the mesh. Check it out, but I believe SEVEN is not good for humans.
a month agoI had a hydroponic lab in my classroom. This is one plant that was grown in 2 months from seed to harvest. You can get a hydroponic kit for about 10 plants which would be easier to manage inside. You would need to have a tank for the water and a grow lamp to imitate the Sun, but you can grow them inside, using 1/10 of water and no pesticides.
a month agoCome to California. Our collard Greens grow to the size of trees. We call them tree collards.
2 months agoDiatomaceous earth, its an organic powder that will kill those "cabbage loopers". This stuff is good for all soft bodied insects. When you see those cute little white and light yellow butterflies around, youll soon have these hole making, green worm mthefkers on your green leafy vegetables.
