Yesterday I ran with the Carriage House Birth team to raise money for Haven Midwifery’s efforts to open a birth center in Brooklyn.
This matters because NYC has 0 freestanding birth centers — in a city with almost 9 million people‼️
Having access to a place other than a hospital or your home to give birth is so important. Birth centers offer another option for people who want midwifery-led, evidence-based care in a more intimate~homey setting.
People deserve options for where and how they give birth... and NYC deserves more of them.
So grateful to be part of a community running toward that future. 🏃♀️
