I was searching through the library for possible books written about mythical creatures, folklore tales or anything of the sort. After failing to find anything of the sort that I hadn’t already read in the standard sections, I thought to go towards the back section of the library.
It’s like a whole new world back there, dust fills the air, giving you a hard embrace as you move through each section, cobwebs delicately decorate the walls, shelves and the untouched books, starved for a hoof to open them again. It’s clear this area has been abandoned by ponies for a long time, there’s papers and worn out books scattered all over the floor in defeat.

There must be something here, anything at all.

My biggest hope is that perhaps there’s information on the forest, although I don’t have much hope, I mean all of those books were destroyed

The forest surrounds us, stood to attention, preventing us from leaving. We aren’t allowed to get close, to cross that line into the forest, it’s forbidden but why?

And then I see it, an aged book, looking wise and filled with information, impossible to miss, impossible to ignore. I have to read it.

Seems like any old book at first, I feel defeated, there really must be nothing, perhaps my wish for fae me the magical really is just only a dream. I was about to put the book down and call it a day, I skimmed through a final page and there it mentioned the existence of dragons and griffins being real, and creatures called ‘draconequus?’. This is impossible, this book is… it’s a forbidden piece of literature, it should’ve been burned and yet it’s here in my hooves spilling out this life changing information. I read on, I’m incapable of putting this book down it’s so enticing, and then…
