Business is not run on luck. Read that again.
Especially not in a market as big, complex and competitive as Nigeria.
You can be lucky enough to stumble upon a good idea, but luck won’t tell you whether there is enough demand.
Luck won’t calculate your margins.
Luck won’t study your competitors.
Luck won’t predict your operating costs.
Luck won’t identify your risks.
Luck won’t build your distribution strategy.
And luck certainly won’t make an unprofitable business scalable.
You need research. You need strategy. You need numbers. You need execution.
There are businesses making money in Nigeria every single day. The question isn’t simply “What business can I start?”
The better question is:
“What does the market need, what is it already paying for, and how can I build a profitable business around that demand?”

So this Monday, don’t just pray for capital to start a business, Do the work that makes success more likely.

Research the market.
Understand the numbers.
Know the risks.
Then execute.
