#Clique, Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell sat down with Cam Newton, and the conversation turned to whether gay people can enter heaven. Mitchell said he believes they can if they repent, place their faith in Jesus Christ and stop acting on their same-sex desires. He also said those feelings may never go away, but under his interpretation of scripture, having the desire and acting on it are two different things. “They may have that urge for the rest of their life, but if they don’t act on it, they don’t sin before God,” he said. Mitchell added that he cannot force someone to be heterosexual, describing his role as teaching scripture and helping them live what he considers a life of holiness. He also emphasized that salvation comes through Jesus Christ, rather than morality alone. #Clique, what are your thoughts on his explanation? I look at my wife and our babies and all I can think is… Lord, You did this. 🥹 We’re just watching a movie together, but I’m sitting here overwhelmed by what You’ve given me. Marriage. Family. People to love, hold, and walk through life with. This was Your idea. Your creation. Your beautiful design. And I get to be her husband and their dad. God, thank You. Every single day, thank You. Help me love them the way You call me to. Help me never get so busy chasing anything that I overlook the gifts sitting right in front of me. Jesus, all the glory belongs to You.
