Scotland delivered more than I expected. The friendly people, the excellent food, all of the natural and cultivated beauty everywhere. There were places we visited where you could feel connected to the ancients who were there 1000 years ago.

It was an experience I’ll never forget.

Glencoe is where I learned what midges are (carnivorous flys itchy mosquito bite like marks) and why I shouldn’t wear shorts in the heather. 🪰

Another iconic filming location, the Glenfinnan Viaduct was a dream come true for me and all the other potterheads who got to see the Hogwarts Express roll through the highlands.

Made it to our hotel on the Isle of Skye before dark. Had a great time walking around the village before dinner.

Old man of Storr: This landmark is one of those places where photos will never do it justice. It was goliath.

The weather was a paid actor. Rain, wind gusts and low visibility made the stone formation all the more daunting. Was easy to see why myth and legend roll off this mountain as easily as a loose stone.

This photo mirror flipped but the cars and roads in Scotland are opposite to the roads and cars in the USA. Driving was a fun adjustment as we had to get used to driving in the right seat of the car on the left side of the road. 😗😗😗😗😗
