Another gouache piece! 🎨💙 And I’m honestly loving how these colors look. I especially love how gouache can sometimes make a traditional painting look almost like a digital illustration. ✨

For this piece, I wanted to take inspiration from some Venezuelan photographers I’ve been following and use some of their photos as inspiration for my own illustrations. I love the idea of taking images of Venezuelan people and reimagining them through my art.

Venezuelans can look SO different from one another, and that’s something I really want to keep exploring and showing in my work. I want to keep representing my people in all of their different styles, looks, and personalities.👀

And of course, I had to add something silly to the hat. If you know the meme, you know what it says. I’m pretty sure it’s actually a Dominican meme, not Venezuelan, but honestly… if someone told me it was Venezuelan, I wouldn’t question it. 😂👽

This piece is currently being exhibited at 45 South Café in Norcross, and I’m really excited to hopefully show it in more exhibitions soon! 🖼️✨
