When I moved from Chile to Miami, I never imagined that one day I would be part of a sorority. I never pictured myself wearing letters, going to sisterhood events, showing up for philanthropy, or calling a group of girls my sisters. And yet, somehow, Phi Mu became one of the most beautiful unexpected parts of my college journey. 🩷🥹
I joined Phi Mu during my sophomore year, at a time when i was still figuring out who I was, trying to find my place, and learning how to put myself out there in a completely different country. Looking back, I don’t think I realized how much this sisterhood would change me.
Phi Mu pushed me outside of my comfort zone. It gave me the courage to get more involved on campus, meet people I never would have met, and say yes to opportunities that the old version of me would have been too scared to take.
But more than anything, it gave me women to look up to. Women who inspire me, support me, celebrate me, and remind me that I never have to do everything alone. Each of them has taught me something in their own way, and I hope they know how deeply grateful i am for that.
Sometimes i think about the girl who came all the way from another country , not knowing anyone, and i wish i could tell her that one day she would find a little piece of home in the most unexpected place. 🥹💞💞💘
To my sisters: thank you for seeing me, believing in me, and loving me through every version of myself. Thank you for every hug, every laugh, every late-night conversation, every “ Fran you got this,” and every memory i’ll carry with me long after college. 💌
I came to Miami looking for a new beginning, and somehow I found a sisterhood I never even knew I needed.💘
From Chile to Miami, I found my people. And I will forever be grateful that I found Phi Mu. 🏡🩷🤍🎀
LIOB, always. ♡ 🦁
