A man fakes an NFL career to con women out of over a million dollars. A woman fakes two years of PA school to build a brand. It’s all rooted in societal, cultural, and (yes, even political) pressures. It feels like we’re living in a world where looking successful can outweigh actually being qualified.
Over 600,000 Black women (and counting) have been pushed out of the workforce since last year. Their degrees and receipts still wasn’t enough.
I’m asking amid an economic crisis: are we all so impacted by capitalism that we’re performing just to keep up with its demands?
