Today, we are proud to introduce Corey, aka @coreykwilliams as the 27th recipient of the coin.
Here is his story:

« March 28th, 2025 I suffered a stroke during a basic surgical procedure to remove a bunch of lipomas. My life was dramatically impacted as I had left side deficits that affected walking, driving, speech, etc. Anxiety and depression sets in and life feels dark and heavy.

Thankfully through family, hardcore, and motorcycles, I had an incredible support system. I’ve been Straight Edge for 34 years now and played in many bands but Carry On, Piece by Piece and Internal Affairs are the more notable ones. Harley tech for 14 years at Nassau Harley.

25 years after Carry On broke up, we decided to reunite. I couldn’t play guitar and had to reteach myself to play which was probably the best PT for my hand, heart, and mind.

2026 I played a couple shows with PBP and Carry On. The healing it has done to my mental state is priceless. So fortunate to play with Nick Todd Ryan and Greg again and having it feel better than it ever did.

As for motorcycles, hopefully one day I’ll be back on 2 wheels for personal enjoyment. Still too many mental and physical road blocks, but hoping that will change with time.

Shout out to Chris Brodie Scott and the Saviors Crew for always checking in on me. Greg Flack and Dennis McDonald for the endless phone calls. And to my incredible wife Pam that gives me the strength to push on.

Klaasje appears so badass and unbothered by everything but her femme fatale personality is carefully constructed camouflage and - to a degree - perhaps part of her survival technique. Disco Elysium explicitly points out to the player how romanticising Klaasje is interfering with their judgment concerning her involvement in the case (and ironically that was what almost made my Harry cuff and take her into cust0dy - which, as I found out later, would have cost her her life). One thing I love about Disco Elysium is how this game messes with your perception - and once you have those intrusive thoughts (which it so readily provides), they will interfere, in some way, with your perception, no matter how much you think you’re immune to it (I was team Klaasje all the way up to the point of that mind bend).

There’s way too much I would like to say about Klaasje but reading about her, I found this quote, which I really liked: “Ultimately, Disco Elysium takes an archetype that is traditionally hyper-s3xualised for the male gaze and reframes it to analyze how people use a woman’s s3xuality as an excuse for violence, political theater, or personal distraction.”
